SUGGESTED ITINERARIES: TREKS

AZADEN VALLEY & TIZI OUSSEM – 2 days

An overnight walk in the Toubkal National Park through Amazigh (Berber) villages perched on the foot of the mountains and virgin juniper forests. Drive from Marrakech to Imi Ourlad then trek to the Tizi Ntacht pass and Azaden Valley for a night in a traditional guest house in the village of Tizi Oussem. In the morning head to Ighoulidne waterfalls and the Tizi Mzik pass (2479m) with panoramic views of the Imlil valley. After lunch under the juniper trees continue to Imlil to meet transport back to Marrakech.

MOUNT TOUBKAL Climb – 3 days

This 3 day hike to the summit of Jbel Toubkal 4167m with a fully trained Amazigh (Berber) Mountain Guide is challenging but the spectacular views from the summit make this adventure very worthwhile.

MOUNT TOUBKAL Hike – 6 days

A spectacular hike and ascent of Jbel Toubkal, 4167m above sea level, the highest peak in North Africa, traverses varied landscapes including forests of oaks and junipers, waterfalls and traditional Amazigh (Berber) adobe villages. The gradual trek starts from the base camp at 1000m elevation and is not technically difficult. As the landscape widens you will experience the immense panoramic views across the High Atlas Mountains. No previous mountaineering experience is needed as you travel with a fully trained Amazigh Mountain Guide whose local knowledge will make this adventure very worthwhile.

M’GOUN GORGE Walk – 6 days

Walk across the High Atlas Mountains from the Ait Bougmez Valley (Happy Valley) in the north to the Rose Valley at Kelaâ M’gouna in the south. This trek is supported by experienced Amazigh (Berber) Guides and Muleteers and takes a leisurely pace suitable for family groups. Discover the gateway to the desert – pass through the 1500m canyon and the outstanding Ksars and Kasbahs of the Amazigh villages. Return to Marrakech via Ouarzazate and the Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass 2260m.

M’GOUN MASSIF Climb – 6 Days

Drive from Marrakech via the Ouzoud waterfalls and the Ait Bougmez Valley (Happy Valley) to hike in the central massif of the High Atlas. See the beautiful Tarkeddit plateau and make the easy ascent to the summit of M’goun (4071m). Frequented by nomads and without the crowds of Toubkal, experience this untouched landscape with panoramic views of the distant cities to the north and south of the Atlas.
